About Us

We are a volunteer parent, guardian, teacher, staff 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is affiliated with the national and state PTA. The California State PTA is a tax exempt nonprofit organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This exemption applies to all the California State PTA’s constituent organizations. Our EIN is 94-6172045, the PTA California Congress of Parents Teachers And Students. Our mission is to strengthen our school, support staff programs and sponsor fun, community-building events throughout the year.

How You Can Help

● Become a member! Membership keeps us in good standing with local, state, and national PTA councils, which provides additional support and resources to help us reach our goals and support our students. 

  • Being a member means you can vote on key items like budget, events, programs

    1. membership fee covers our administrative expenses so fundraising can go to the students and staff. 

● Attend Back to School Night, and other community events

● Participate in our annual Walk-A-Thon: The PTA’s primary fundraiser to support our programs. Scheduled for September 27, 1:15pm - 2:15pm

● Volunteer: Speak to teachers before volunteering in classrooms. You will need to get a volunteer badge to do this. Attend the first PTA meeting to learn about the different volunteer opportunities. 

● The Facebook and Instagram pages will provide updates on upcoming events and activities.  If you're not on social media, we have a digital Rattler Newsletter. Sign up here. 

How to Join?

Volunteer Badge

Parent volunteers (parents/legal guardians) and community members (non-parents) who wish to volunteer at any WCCUSD schools:

  1. Apply online at Public Volunteer Process

    1. Complete the application in Verkada

    2. Review and approval of your application can take 1-2 weeks

    3. When the application and background screen is completed, volunteers will be provided with a QR code they can scan or show at their school sites

  2.  Go 1108 Bissell Ave. - Room 109, Richmond, CA 94801 to pick up the badge.
